Ann-Maree Wheeler is an AHPRA registered Senior Psychologist with over 20 years experience in the mental health field working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Ann-Maree has extensive experience with trauma, mood disorders and suicidality having been the Senior Psychologist across a range of settings including child protection, corrections, health and disability services, in addition to educational and developmental psychology.
Ann-Maree has been in private practice for over 7 years, offering therapeutic intervention and diagnostic assessment for clients of all ages.
Ann-Maree adopts a person-centred, strength-based approach tailored to the client’s specific needs and individual story. Ann-Maree is certified and experienced in a range of evidence-based approaches.
Ann-Maree is an EMDRAA-accredited EMDR practitioner - EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is an evidence-based treatment for Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety and Specific Phobia.
Ann-Maree also utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Emotion-Focussed Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.
Ann-Maree has extensive experience in a range of diagnostic assessments to include cognitive and adaptive assessments; specific learning disorder; screening for Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental concerns; Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder; anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Ann-Maree is also an AHPRA approved supervisor of Provisionally Registered and Registered Psychologists. She also has extensive experience in providing supervision to clinical and non-clinical staff.
Sheree Baker is a General Psychologist with a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) (Honours) and a background in nursing.
Sheree has experience conducting psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions with children, young people, adults and families who experience a range of difficulties related to mental health, relationships and general functioning.
Sheree takes a person-centred, holistic and strengths-based approach. This takes into consideration an individual’s unique story and how these experiences have shaped their understanding of themselves, others and the world around them. Individuals and families are encouraged to recognise their strengths and build skills related to self-awareness, emotional regulation and healthy relationships.
Sheree can provide diagnoses, recommendations and therapeutic support for a range of mental health conditions related to depression, anxiety, behavioural/emotional difficulties, attachment vulnerabilities, grief and loss, stress and post-traumatic stress, suicidal ideation and deliberate self-harm, and difficulties related to neurodevelopmental and personality disorders.
Sheree has training and experience in the following approaches: Mindfulness, Schema-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (for adults, adolescents and parents), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Black Box Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.
Suzy Astin is a Provisionally Registered Psychologist.
Suzy has gained experience working with children in a variety of Primary and High schools across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.
Completing her studies between the University of New England and the University of Wollongong, Suzy has a particular interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Suzy works with children and adults who are navigating depression, anxiety, grief and trauma.
Rebecca is a General Psychologist who completed a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology and Philosophy at the University of Wollongong.
Before becoming a Psychologist, she gained substantial experience in mental health supporting adults with complex presentations in a non-clinical, psychosocial recovery context.
Rebecca has also worked extensively with young people (12-24 year-olds) and provided family-based intervention as a Family Clinician with headspace.
For the past 3 years, Rebecca has been working as a school counsellor and has a passion for supporting young people and families. However, can work with clients of any age and background.
Rebecca is experienced with all mainstream treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and incorporates elements of Narrative, Interpersonal and other modalities into her work.
Rebecca uses an integrative approach focussing on each client’s individual needs and can provide psychometric testing and diagnosis where appropriate.
Rebecca is currently available on Mondays only.
Danah has a Master's in Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (AIPC) and is currently completing her Honours in Psychology at Charles Sturt University (2024). Her honours thesis is about Australian teachers' knowledge and attitudes towards teaching students with ASD.
Danah has been working in the field of mental health for over 10 years, initially as a mental health support worker (Forensic and NDIS) and for the past 4 years as a school counsellor. She is passionate about working with children and adolescents, as well as their families.
Danah hopes to see clients in private practice and run social and emotional learning groups (i.e., anxiety, Lego etc) in the near future.
